I’ve been neglecting this journal which is unfortunate. I’ll try and get back in the swing of things.

Rather than recap everything that has happened over the past few months, I’ll just talk about this weekend. I went to NYC with Ashley to visit Rudy. We had a really good time even though we didn’t do many “NYC” type things cause it was way to muggy to walk around. Just the usual bar hopping, and I got introduced to ‘Californication’ which is an amazing show. Already finished Season 1, on to Season 2 tonight.

Charlie has moved to Amherst to go to woodworking school out there. So far it’s been ok having him far away again; he still comes here a lot for doctors appointments, and I’m getting a ton of “chores” done that I’ve pretty much been putting off since he moved here. When your options are cleaning your room, running errands, etc, or hanging out with your boyfriend, guess which I preferred?

This week is pretty quiet so I’m going to get back in the swing of things as far as the gym goes. Next Saturday Charlie and I are meeting up with my cousins and their boyfriends to do a zipline your in the mountains of NH. Very excited about that! And then once September hits, I don’t have many set plans on the weekends, so it will be nice to just play them by ear again.

1:00 pm - NIN/Jane's Addiction June 3, 2009 Comcast Center, Massachusetts
Jodi and I had ordered tickets to this show a while ago. Both being huge Jane's fans, we knew we couldn't miss their reunion tour. I've also been a fan of NIN, not as much as Jane's, but I still enjoy their music.

NIN.com was offering fans backstage passes if they donated money to help a young man who needs a heart transplant. You got to go backstage, get autographs, talk with the band, then watch a portion of the show from the stage. I saw it as a great cause and also a once in a lifetime opportunity, so I donated.

We arrived at the Comcast Center around 2 PM and waited around for a bit to be let in. While I was waiting, I saw my old friend Chris from RI also waiting in line, so we hung out with him and his buddy for the night. We were let in the venue around 4:30 and waited in line to get autographs and pics. It started raining which made the waiting a bit miserable, but they were nice enough to move us into a tent to get out of the rain. We got up to meet the members of NIN and they were so nice and gracious to us. They just seemed to be thoroughly enjoying having the fans there and it was just a really nice feeling. I got a CD signed, and then took pics with the band. They were only letting us get one thing signed, but Trent Reznor was nice enough to sign a bunch of CDs for Chris (as Trent said "Rules were meant to be broken"). They had a short Q&A afterwards, then we headed backstage for dinner. We had a delicious meal and Jodi and I were lucky enough to get a picture with Stephen Perkins and Eric Avery from Jane's, which totally made my night!

We then watched NIN perform for about 20 minutes from the stage which was crazy. It was neat to have that kind of vanatge point, although I would much rather watch a show from the audience. With their backs turned to us and the lights and smoke machines, it was hard to see at some points. But still totally worth it for that experience!

We sat in our seats for the rest of the show; Jane's was amazing, so glad I got to see them. I always remember as a teenager being sad that I'd never get to see them perform together, so this was totally a dream come true.

Overall, it was one of the best nights of my life. Meeting the bands and having them be so cool and friendly was just the best.

11:52 am - Stuff and junk
I haven’t updated in a while; whoops! Lemme try and recap some stuff.

I had a great St. Patty’s weekend. Went to Ashley’s and hung out with the girls; also had a delicious brunch at Thiana’s.

I started going to a hip hop class on Monday nights in Central Square. It’s a drop-in class so it’s no biggie if I miss a week. I like it; since I’ve been trying to workout 6 days a week it’s nice to mix up my workouts with a dance class. It’s also super easy to get to as the bus that takes me there is right next to my work. For not living close to a T, I do have many buses in the area that take me everywhere I want to go.

Kristin and I booked a trip to Vegas next month for 4 days. I am soooooo excited about it. I’ve wanted to go back to Vegas ever since I turned 21 and going with Kristin will be a great time.

I’m also going to Chicago in October with Shannon and a bunch of others because she’s going to run the marathon. I’ve never been to Chicago besides the airports and have always heard it’s a great city so I’m def pumped for that trip.

May 3 I’m walking 20 miles for the Walk for Hunger with Ashley. I already raised more money than my original goal. This past Saturday I also helped out with Boston Marathon runners who were training. I sat on a bench in Washington Square with a bucket of Gatorade and snacks for them. It was actually a lot of fun; they were super appreciative and would hang out and chat with me. I’d def do it again.

Somewhat quiet week here; I plan on being at the gym most evenings. Thursday night I’m meeting up with the girls to see the Shepard Fairey art exhibit, then we’re gonna get dinner. Sunday I’m heading up to NH to visit Sam!

4:12 pm - If I had a $1,000,000
Lately friends and I have been thinking of starting to play the lotto (that whole can’t win if you don’t play ad really sucked us in). Yes, we know the odds of us winning are not good, but in these tough economic times let’s just pretend we actually have a shot.

In deciding to do this, we have all started fantasizing about what we’d actually do with the money if we won. If you’d ask me 10 years ago what I’d do with the money I’d probably say ridiculous things like pick up and move to California (a place I’ve determined I don’t even want to live) and get a huge house, and not work, blah blah. When I made my list this time is was quite different and (gasp!) rather adult like. When did I become a grown-up!?

What I’d do with all that money:

-Buy a house in the Boston area
-Buy a car that is good in the snow
-Take all of my friends on a vaca; I’d pay for their plane and hotel, they pay for meals and drinks
-Buy whatever clothes I wanted (still a dream of mine)
-Work part-time somewhere that I truly loved and never felt like “work”
-Pay for my parents and/or family to all go on a trip
-Have a wine cellar of some type, but not necessarily filled with expensive wines, just wines I like
-Buy an orchard or a vineyard, or both. I’d like to make my own wine, or have an orchard for apple picking
-Buy really awesome kitchen appliances and cook ALL the time
-Take my little cousin to Disney World
-Buy a summer house in Maine

I laugh at my first two (house and new car) because they seem the most sensible and a sign that well, I’m an adult now. At least I’m still willing to spend it frivolously (clothes, vacations). I really want a car that is good in the snow though!

3:30 pm - Ya suspect!
I always get a kick out of the fact that whenever Good Will Hunting is on TV, it seems all my friends in Boston are in their respective apartments watching it. That was the case Friday night as it was on TV and I soon realized most of my friends were watching it as well as Kim, Dave, and I.

Bright and early Saturday I drove Dave to the airport for his Colorado skiing trip; I spent the rest of the day at kickboxing class, and lounging about my room. I put my clothes away and finally washed all those ‘hand wash only’ items that always end up in my hamper for a year and I forget I have them.

I went to Ashley’s Saturday night then went downtown to The Point. Attempted Bell in Hand, but it was much too cold to wait outside in line (the main reason I rarely go out in the winter). Had a wonderful night of dancing and ‘no, I love you!’ etc.

Sunday I went to RI for my uncle’s b-day lunch at Twin Oaks. Came back here and slept most of the day, then watched the Oscar’s. I loved the show; I thought Hugh Jackman was funny and entertaining and I enjoyed the way they presented the awards for acting.

I finally manned up and found a dentist in Watertown and went after almost two years without a trip to the dentist. Surprisingly, they said my teeth looked great. I suppose I do take good care of them, I just always felt so guilty about not having been in for a cleaning in so long.

Last week was a bust as far as my new “be healthy” mantra (hello McDonald’s at 2 AM!). Time to get back on the horse this week. I don’t even like horses.

2:50 pm - Merlot? Really?
My snowshoes arriving in the mail is solely the reason for the 40+ degrees weather this week. I will now have to wait for another snowstorm (and I’m not so sure I actually want more snow this year) in order to use them.

Friday Charlie and I ventured to the movies to see Coraline. It was very good, especially in 3-D. Its def more for teens/adults than little kids as it’s rather creepy, but I loved it.

Saturday Kim and I rushed to H&M on Newbury St. to try and do some shopping (she had to be home by 2:30). Thinking of all the other times I have been to that H&M and had to wait in line 20 minutes just to get a fitting room, I feared we wouldn’t have much time there. We found a spot on Newbury, which we circled around for a bit after exciting my car because it was def too good to be true. But alas, it was a legit spot. When we got to H&M there was NOBODY there; no lines at the cash registers, no lines for the fitting rooms. It was very weird and I suppose H&M is not recession proof. We had whizzed through the store and had plenty of time to hit up Banana Republic before Kim turned into a pumpkin.

Saturday night Charlie and I went back to Newbury to go to a friend’s party. Ashley and Co. met up with us and we went to a bar near her apartment that she frequents. It was a lovely little bar with all that fun Irish pub ambience. We plan on going back Sunday night for trivia.

I slept till 11 on Sunday (!!) then my Mom and Lee came up and took Charlie and I out to lunch. I then slept from 3-6. I don’t know why I’ve been sleeping so much lately; at least it’s warding off illness I suppose.

3:25 pm - Obama making us all warm and fuzzy
When thinking back on my trip to Inauguration, it really is amazing to think of what a great vibe there was in the city during that time. When we were squished on the metro, yet still laughing and chatting about where we were from, where we were headed at the moment, I’m not sure I will ever experience that anywhere else ever again. There really was a feeling of hope that things would get better, that we were going to be in a better place. That feeling alone was worth the trip.

When I was in Union Station waiting for my train to BWI, I bonded with a man after we were both directed to get onto the wrong train and luckily were corrected by the conductor. When we got back into the station, he offered to purchase me a coffee if I sat with his bag while he went to get one and a newspaper. I patiently waited as he returned with my coffee, thinking how pleasant it was for him to offer to buy it for me. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside (not just due to the temperature of the beverage), but when I relayed the story to others, they scoffed at me for watching someone’s luggage. Didn’t I listen to the warnings of “suspicious” packages etc? The thought had honestly never crossed my mind. Was my inauguration high still in tact that I was willing to agree to it, or was I just entranced by the concept of a free coffee. Either way, nothing exploded, but I suppose now I’ll always think about it if someone else asks me to watch their things. Unless there is free coffee involved.

Valentine’s Day is swiftly approaching which makes me think about what a terrible Hallmark holiday it is, that I often don’t care about until it is Feb. 14. When you’re single, it’s ok and almost expected not to have any romantical plan for that day. But when you are attached, not having plans is this terrible thing. People silently tsk tsk (you can see it in their eyes) after they ask you what you and your significant other are doing to celebrate and you respond with “nothing.” I have off and on celebrated this terrible pink and red filled day, but have to admit that as I get older I DO want to do something for it. I like the concept of having a special day to celebrate with your significant other (besides your anniversary) to just be like “we love each other, hell yeah!” and to most likely eat delicious food. Last year Charlie and I celebrated for the first time and he drove up from CT with a New Haven style pizza with my favorite toppings and an apple pie that he had baked. The easiest way to my heart is through my stomach, so it was one of my greatest V-day’s ever. This year we’re going on a double date with Dave and Kim for Ethiopian food (which I think I will like, but if not, I’ve warned we’re stopping for burgers on the way home).

I think the other thing about Valentine’s Day that makes me feel kind of weird is that my father used to send me flowers and give me gifts. When I was little, he’d always give me candies and what not, but as I got older he on two different occasions sent me flowers to my place of work. Once they were such a large boutique that Laura had to come pick me up at work because I could not drive and make sure the flowers did not topple over all my car at the same time (they were embarrassingly huge). As sweet as my father is, I have never really liked receiving gifts from him on this day. I’ve always viewed it as a day for you and your significant other, not family (although I believe Sam did get me flowers one year which I loved; I’m pretty sure I needed them too). My dad is so nice, but I don’t want gifts from him on Valentine’s Day (sorry pops).

Before my actual V-day plans, I’ll be attended an Anti-Valentine’s party at a friend’s place. I’m actually quite looking forward to this; I plan on getting those Pilsbury cookies with the hearts in them and then taking red icing and putting slashes through the hearts. I’m trying to think of other dessert ideas that involve desecrating symbols of love (while still making them edible). Perhaps a giant broken heart shaped rice krispie treat? We shall see.

3:11 pm - I don’t blog, I journal
It’s true, I don’t, but I often refer to it as blogging although I really just have an online journal that I don’t often put my thoughts into, rather I summarize my life in a particular week/weekend. Perhaps in 2009 I will start “blogging” more in here.

So 2008 was a craptastic year, and during this time I pretty much ate whatever I wanted not particularly caring what it did to my body. Charlie and I agreed it was rather fun to eat (ice cream, fried foods, cakes, cookies, you name it, I ate it) but I’ve finally reached the point of not being happy with the effects of it. That being said, I started out 2009 like most Americans with a “get fit!” motto. I’ve actually been keeping up with it though, starting off with keeping a food journal. I started it as a Google document, and just highlighted the “bad” foods I ate in red, so it would catch my eye and if I saw a lot of red I knew it was time to eat better. I also have been keeping up with the gym, going at least 4 or 5 days a week. That has been very rewarding and I actually find myself smiling and Wooo-ing during exercise classes (shiz, I’m a Wooo girl).

But yesterday my friend showed me this website called gyminee.com where you can log your food, exercise, goals, etc. Within a 24 hour period, this has now become my life. When I see the ratio of carbs, proteins, calories, and fats that I need, I find myself obsessing over my meals all day long. Last night I realized I couldn’t have a bowl of shredded wheat with banana that I had been craving because I had already had enough carbs for one day and needed more protein. I defrosted some tilapia and ate two fillets with my quinoa and veggies to up my protein. This kept me felling full and satisfied for all of 30 minutes, and then I was hungry again. I went to Charlie’s to play Fable while he was on his bike, knowing that once he got off I would have to give the x-box back to him, but I still stopped my game so I could have a bowl of low-fat granola before my time was up because I was that hungry. I don’t give up Fable that easily!

Today has been filled with “if I eat this, I can’t eat that later” and so on and so forth. I don’t know if my budget allows for me to have a freezer full of meat so that I’m getting enough protein at meals. But I also don’t really want to eat only eggs and veggies for dinner, so I need some kind of meat. I never realized how carbs are in everything and how much of them I probably eat per day (and I always felt like I ate good carbs!)

Basically I’m already wondering if being svelte and toned is worth the misery. Wouldn’t I rather have some pudge and be happy and eat that slice of cake? Or will I change my mind when sweater season is over. A part of me is somewhat excited to add more meat to my diet (I’ve always been a carnivore) but then again, I don’t want to have to sit down and double check if I can go get that scoop of ice cream or not. The thought of double checking what I should have for my next meal is already bothering me. Charlie said he wouldn’t be able to do it, but I’m going to give it a month and see how I feel after that. Whether I’m happy or miserable, I’m still having a big bowl of pasta then.

11:53 am
I didn’t go to Charlie’s much last week which means I got mad stuff done. Laundry (and even put my clothes away!), cleaning, errands, stuff like that. I feel mostly caught up on my “to-do” list.

Friday night I stayed in and baked cookies for a family party on Saturday. I went to said party the next day; it was fun. Saturday night I went to Clink at the Liberty Hotel with Shannon and Lori, then we went to McFadden’s (which is apparently 21 and under, heh) and met up with Val, Travis, Elcira, and a bunch of others. We stayed till close, and had a very long (but funny) drive home. I didn’t get to bed till after 3, so I was very tired Sunday.

I went to Michael’s on Sunday and bought a bunch of new beads. I’m excited to make jewelry with them; my mom requested a matching necklace/bracelet/earring set for Mother’s Day so I want to start working on that. For the Superbowl Charlie, Kim, Val, Shannon, Lori and I went to Big City for dinner and pool; we watched the rest of the game at home.

I’ve been keeping up with my routine and hitting the gym at least 5 days a week. Being able to go on the weekend has been working out well. I’ve kept up with the food journal too, although I did eat a lot of crap last week. I’ll try and do better this week.

This coming weekend I’m going to a party on Newbury St Saturday night, and on Sunday my Mom and Lee are coming up to take me to lunch. I’ve been itching to go shopping so I might hit up the H&M downtown. I also still have gift cards from Christmas to Express and the Gap so I should go there as well.

2:28 pm - Warm as a button
I headed down to DC the Saturday before Inauguration. Rollo and Allie picked me up at BWI and we drove back to DC. Saturday night we went on an “Obama” pub crawl. Sunday we went to see the big concert on the mall. Monday was our free day; we roamed around Georgetown, got yummy cupcakes, and on a whim I got all my hair cut off. I LOVE it and if I was rich I would fly down to DC every six weeks to have this guy cut my hair. But alas, I am not, so I’ll have to search for someone equally as good here.

Tuesday morning we got up early so we could head down to the mall to see the ceremony. It was cold (really cold!) but totally worth it. The positive energy could be felt wherever you were in DC. I’ve never been around such huge crowds of people who were friendly and nice. It was a good feeling.

I headed back to Boston on Wednesday morning, and spent most of the day sleeping. Weekend was pretty quiet, I slept a ton.

I’m back to a good workout routine which I’m pleased with. I’ve been successful in keeping a food journal for almost a month now too. It doesn’t necessarily prevent me from eating crap, but at least I can tell when I shouldn’t eat anymore crap on a certain day!

My new TV obsession is Flight of the Conchords. It is hilarious. Charlie got it for Christmas on DVD so we have been watching a few episodes a night.

John Updike passed away today. I wrote my first term paper in college on his short stories.

More snow tomorrow. I’m not sure I can take much more, mostly because I’m not sure where else to shovel it in my driveway. But because of all the snow, I’m currently bidding on some snowshoes on ebay so that Lee and I can go snowshoeing sometime.

3:34 pm - Holidays and such
The holidays were good this year, but I’m glad to be back to my quiet routine. No more baking, wrapping, packing, and driving. I worked Christmas Eve in the AM, had lunch with Sarah M. who was in town, and then made the long drive back to RI (long because everyone seemed to get out of work at 12 that day). Had a nice Christmas with the family; went to CT on Saturday to visit with Charlie’s family. They got a new Scottie puppy that they named Maude so Lucia has company when they move. She was the tiniest little thing; so adorable.

Rollo was here most of last week. We mostly just hung around the house playing Rock Band 2 (I broke down and bought it). We spent New Years Eve at Shannon’s place in the North End and had a really great time. The roof of her place has an amazing view of the city.

The rest of my vaca was pretty low key. I went home on Friday and let Merrie play with my Wii Fit, and I took her and my grandpa out for lunch. Charlie’s parents came up on Sunday and took us out for dinner at the spicy Chinese place.

This coming weekend I’m going out Friday night with some friends to see this guy I know perform. Saturday I’m heading home to RI to meet Matt’s girlfriend who is visiting from Tennessee. Saturday night I think I’m going out somewhere with Ashley, then Sunday Charlie and I might drive to the Putney Diner in VT if we’re feeling up to it.

1:28 pm - Peace out 2008
2008 was a crappy year. There were some highs (Laura and Matt's wedding!) but the lows were just incredibly low (Grandma Chase). I'm looking forward to a new year, filled with happiness, friends, family, and health!!

Happy New Year!

2:39 pm - Snowed-in
My weekend was spent mostly indoors. I think I might have had a little cabin fever, but I got a ton of stuff done. We got out of work early on Friday; Charlie and I had lunch at Deluxe Town Diner (yummm). I went home and finished up all my Christmas wrapping and jewelry making, put all my clothes away, and shoveled the driveway. I walked over to Charlie’s once the storm had hit, and we hung in and watched Wanted. I got out for a little bit on Saturday and went to the gym and Stop n Shop. Went back to Charlie’s and made steak for dinner; played Fable 2 for most of the night. Sunday we were supposed to go to RI for my grandpa’s b-day lunch, but the snow forced us to stay home again. I shoveled more, made more jewelry, and watched TV most of the night. Extremely low key weekend; it’s nice to get out of the house!

Wednesday I’m having lunch with a coworker then heading home to help out with holiday stuff. I’ll be in RI till Friday night; I’m picking up Dave and Kim at the airport that night and driving them back to Boston. Saturday I’m going to CT to visit Charlie’s family, then coming back here on Sunday because Rollo is staying with us till New Years. I have over a week off from work and I’m soooooo looking forward to it!

2:26 pm - Let the holiday parties begin
This weekend was a good mixture of low key and some partying. Friday night I didn’t do anything and ended up in bed around 10. Saturday I drove home to RI to spend the day with my dad; I brought him cookies from my work’s cookie swap and I made him a chicken pot pie the night before. I brought him The Dark Knight to watch and he loved it.

Saturday night I went to a holiday party at Bobby’s coworkers place with him, Ashley and Charlie. We had a really great time; got all dressed up and everything.

Sunday I was lazy and watched TV and napped during the day. I got some Christmas presents wrapped and then went to the boy’s place to watch Forgetting Sarah Marshall (hysterical movie).

The next few weeks should be a blur. Holiday parties Tuesday and Thursday, finishing up all Christmas stuff this weekend, Christmas, Rollo visiting, and then finally the end to this crazy year. I can’t say I’m sad to see 2008 go; it’s been such a tough year that I’m looking forward to a fresh start in 2009.

current mood: hopeful

1:56 pm - Deck those halls, trim those trees
I haven’t updated for a few weeks, mainly because life has been crazy lately. I will try and recap the best I can.

The week before Thanksgiving I had really bad back pain; I thought I had pulled a muscle at the gym or something. Charlie made me go to the doctors and I’m glad he did; it ended up being a kidney infection! I’m all better now though and went for my follow-up and got the all clear from the doctors.

Thanksgiving was very nice this year; I made two kinds of fudge and these yummy seasoned mixed nuts. It was very different this year; since my Aunt is moving to my Grandpa’s house, we had it there and we had a lot of extra people (Sam’s boyfriend and his family, Lori’s parents). It was really nice. I stopped by my grandma’s grave beforehand and got a little sad though. I had to sit in my car for a bit to regroup. The first year of holidays without her will be a little tough.

I spent the night with Merrie and Sam on Thanksgiving night then went to CT the next day. Elsie was having a party at her place in New Haven since everyone was home, so I got to see Rollo and Molly which was nice. I had to leave CT on Sunday and go to work, which was kind of stinky. That Monday I ended up working over 13 hours, but I got my project done and felt really great when it was completed.

Probably the craziest (and scariest) thing that has happened was my Dad had to be rushed to the hospital. He was having bad back/stomach pain, so Lori had to call an ambulance. They thought it was just kidney stones, but it turned out that he had had an aneurysm in his aorta. They performed emergency surgery on him and miraculously he’s recovering extremely well! He was released from the hospital earlier than expected and has a visiting nurse coming to the house (who said that he can’t believe how well he’s doing!). It was def a scary time; I spent Thurs and Fri in the ICU with him. I helped Lori around the house and decorated for Christmas so they wouldn’t have to worry about it (and I also couldn’t stand the thought of the house not being decorated). I went to see him Tuesday and talked to him last night on the phone, and he sounded really good. I’m going to cook him some food and spend the day with him on Saturday too. I’m so relieved he’s doing so well; it’s been a roller coaster of a year as far as my family’s health. I’m really hoping for a healthy 2009 for everyone!

This past weekend we threw an ugly sweater party at the boys’ place. It was a huge success; a lot of people came dressed in their ugly sweaters, and everyone had a really good time. We’ll def have a party again.

The usual holiday craziness is upon me as well; cookie swap at work tomorrow, two work holiday parties, party at Charlie’s parents, buying and wrapping gifts, etc. I have over a week off starting Christmas day though, so I’m very much looking forward to relaxing!

10:26 am - B-day weekend extravaganza
I know five people with b-days this past weekend. I joked that their Dad's years and years ago went ‘Oh no, it’s Valentine’s Day and I didn’t get my wife anything’. “Hey honey, let’s have a kid!” Friday night a whole group of us went to Ned Devine’s for Sarah K’s b-day. It was fun, but I’m not good on Friday nights, so we were home by 1. Saturday we had food fest 08 in celebration of Ben’s b-day; we all went to Red Bones and Cabot’s and the boys had also had burritos before hand. Saturday night we went to The Greatest bar for Sara D’s 30th b-day celebration. It was a lot of fun!

Yesterday was a very relaxing day; I slept in and then ended up taking a nap in the afternoon as well. Charlie, Bobby, and I played this new Wii game Bobby bought that is like Mario Party, but there is also fighting involved. It was fun.

Quiet week, at least at home. Work is busy; I had taken next Wednesday off so I could get a head start on my drive home to RI, but because I have a deadline at work I will most likely be working that day. I’ll prob just leave from here late Wednesday night to avoid some of the traffic.

2:21 pm - Tony, Fable II, and AC/DC
Tony came to visit for the weekend; Friday night we just hung out at Charlie’s. Saturday morning I woke up early and waited for FedEx to deliver the AC/DC tickets I bought for Charlie as his early Christmas present. After they came in, we ran some errands then I ended up starting over in Fable (I beat the game on election night) and played that until we went into Allston to meet up with everyone. We went to Wonderbar for the night and had a great time.

Sunday Charlie and I went to Our House for brunch then I wasted all of Sunday playing Fable. I’ve turned into such a video game nerd, oy. Sunday night we went to the AC/DC show and had a good time; they put on a good show.

This coming weekend we have 3, possibly 4, b-day parties! Everything falls on the same weekend!

At the concert last night I was thinking about all the concerts I’ve been too and thought it’d be a good idea for me to write down each band. Here it goes:

Weezer (three times)
Janet Jackson
The Verve Pipe (twice)
Violent Femmes
Tonic
Tool (four times)
Incubus
Limp Bizkit
311
Def Leppard
Journey
Dave Matthews Band
James Taylor
AC/DC
Jill Scott
They Might Be Giants
Tori Amos
Foo Fighters
Coldplay (twice)
Bob Dylan
The Killers
MIA
KISS
Smashing Pumpkins
No Doubt
Goo Goo Dolls
Bush
A Perfect Circle
New Kids on the Block
Sevendust
The Roots
Santana
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Mars Volta
Dashboard Confessional
KT Tunstall
Beth Orton
Willie Mason (twice)
Guster
The Rolling Stones
Ben Harper
Ben Folds
Jack Johnson
Gym Class Heroes
Matisyahu
Regina Spektor

That’s all I can think of for now. Although I’m missing quite a few since I went to many music festivals (Newport Folk, Austin City Limits, OzzFest) and can’t begin to think of every single band I saw at those.

3:13 pm - Halloween, UConn football, and RocknRolla
Friday was my faaaaave holiday of the year. I passed out candy to the kids that came to Charlie’s, then Bobby, Val, Kim, Elcira, Shannon and myself went to Jose McIntyre’s downtown to celebrate. I dressed up as a witch; we had a good time!

Saturday morning Charlie and I got up early to head to CT to go to the UConn football game with my Dad and Lori. We tailgated for a bit and had chili and bloody marys (mmmm) and then we stayed until about halftime and left to come back to Boston for Lee’s 50th birthday dinner at Mooo in Boston. The meal was amazing as usual. Afterwards I went to my old roommate’s b-day party for a bit, then went back to Charlie’s and hung out and watched The Shining.

Sunday Charlie and I went to see RocknRolla; I enjoyed it, it was entertaining enough. I spent the rest of the day reading and relaxing.

Tonight I have to catch up on all my chores (laundry, putting clothes away, cooking for the week, finding the warranty for my camera) and hopefully I’ll have some time to sit down and start making some jewelry with the beads that came in the mail two weeks ago!

10:47 am - Halloween party, lazy Saturday, and pumpkin carving
Friday night Charlie, Bobby and I drove to RI for Amanda’s Halloween party. It was a lot of fun, I’m glad we went. I decided last minute that I didn’t like my witch costume afterall, so I wore my giant Tom Brady football jersey, fishnets and high heels and went as “Fantasy Football”. I won a prize!

Saturday I had a lazy day; I woke up around 9:30 only to fall back asleep until 1! I made myself get up and go to the gym after that, then spent the rest of the day watching Fear Fest on AMC (looooove when they only show horror movies the week of Halloween!). Saturday night Charlie and I went to a local bar to watch UFC 90; we ended up really liking the bar, and they only charged $5 bucks to get in right before the fight started. Usually we pay a lot more to go see fights, and we got in before they started charging cover so we were pumped.

Yesterday I woke up early and went to step class in the morning, got some groceries from Trader Joe’s, and then went to Charlie’s and carved a pumpkin I bought. I played Fable II most of the day, Charlie and I went to the Green Briar for dinner, then I played more Fable most of the night, hehe.

I still need plans for Halloween so hopefully I’ll find something to do this week!
